Karen
Schory is a professor in and the initiator of the interactive
media program at Johnson County Community College,
Overland Park, Kansas. During her tenure at JCCC, Karen has received the
JCCC Distinguished Service Award six times, most recently in 2005,
and in 1997 received the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Faculty Achievement
Award. Karen has presented papers at several national conferences,
has served as the president of the JCCC Faculty Association, and
was appointed as art education delegate to Egypt, Israel and Turkey
through the Citizen Ambassador Program, People to People International.
Karen holds a master of fine arts in printmaking and photography
from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York; a bachelor
of fine arts in communication design from Kutztown University, Kutztown,
Pennsylvania; and in 1992 returned to RIT to do postgraduate studies
in computer graphics, earning an advanced graduate certificate in
interactive media.
