Prerequisites

All of these software application prerequisites are for CIM 140 Interactive Media Assets.
The course covers a wide variety of computer applications for developing interactive media, including acquiring, editing and formatting audio and video files. It is very important that
all students have these fundamental computer-application skills before proceeding
through the curriculum.

  • CDTP 135 Photoshop* 1
  • CDTP 145 Illustrator* 1
  • CWEB 105 Dreamweaver* 1
  • CWEB 130 Flash* 1

Photoshop and Illustrator both require CPCA 105 (WIN) or CPCA 106 (MAC) Introduction to Personal Computing both of which you may be able to test out of.

Flash has multiple prerequisites.
The prerequisite path for interactive media students should be:

  • CWEB 105 Introduction to Web Pages: Dreamweaver
  • CWEB 101 or 102 Introduction to the Web

CIM 130 Interactive Media Concepts is the first course a student should enroll in. There is no prerequisite for CIM 130. It is a survey course that allows a student to explore the interactive media field and help him or her choose between the web design or multimedia design specializations.
