Stuart
Beals, professor in interactive media at Johnson County Community
College, has taught at the college since 1975, when he founded the
college’s photography program. After designing and overseeing
the photography program’s digital imaging lab and creating
its first digital photography and video course, Stuart joined the
CIM program, specializing in imaging, photography and video. Stuart
has received the NISOD and was nominated for the Burlington Northern
Santa Fe Faculty Achievement Award. He holds a master of science
degree in mass communications with emphasis in multimedia, media
law and ethics from the University of Kansas School of Journalism
and mass communication; a bachelor of arts in photojournalism and
philosophy from the University of Kansas; and a certificate in video
production from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
