Each semester the Ed Tech Center offers iTeach Online Workshop. It's an online course for faculty interested in using Blackboard CE:
Even if you're already using Blackboard CE and have completed previous training, you will find iTeach a valuable resource & activity.
During the interim as JCCC searches for and transitions to a new learning management system, the iTeach Online Workshop has been converted to a self-paced course. You'll have access to all the features that the interactive online course included (online assignments, discussion topics, and so on) but the course no longer includes interaction between participants. The course can be used as a self-paced learning tool with automatically graded assessments and instructor graded projects. For faculty who have never used Blackboard, this online course offers you with an opportunity to learn the system.
During the course of the online class you'll:
Please be aware that participation in iTeach Online requires broadband access. The course includes use of the HTML Creator for editing and entering discussion postings and email as well as playback of Flash movies and uploading files. You'll find that dial-up speeds are insufficient for participation in the class.
To determine when the next section of iTeach Online begins check the online schedule. Registration is required. Registration instructions are available online.
After you register, be sure to email Beth Ramirez (bramirez@jccc.du) and provide your email address and your mailing address. That will enable staff in the Ed Tech Center to communicate with you and send you the course textbooks (available without charge).
